Where Child Welfare and Domestic Violence Meet: What Every Victim Advocate Should Know about Dependency and Neglect

Survivors often find themselves navigating the child welfare system’s maze. In this workshop, we will walk participants through that system - from the first call to the hotline through a Dependency and Neglect case. We will discuss the ways in which marginalized survivors and their children are overrepresented in this system, causing more harm than it prevents. Participants will review treatment plans, critique the system's response, and explore opportunities to advocate for survivors and their children.
