The Necessity of Community Resources for Housing Equity

Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN) strives to provide equitable housing for survivors of interpersonal violence to address major housing barriers that our undocumented and immigrant communities face. This workshop will primarily focus on how community organizing is essential to supporting clients in overcoming institutional barriers. We will highlight SPAN’s use of client-directed advocacy with families experiencing systemic oppression and discrimination within federal, state, and local, housing programs, and leasing agencies.
