Incest Abuse Prevention: Strategies for Stopping the Cycle of Family Sexual Abuse and Centering Survivor Voices

Despite #MeToo, few are talking about incest abuse. In this interactive presentation, Incest AWARE founder Suzanne Isaza will explore the incest dynamic and its unique, long-term impact on survivors. She will discuss ways to support survivors, prevention strategies to reduce victimization (particularly of marginalized and rural communities), address grooming, and create sexually safe homes. She will explore how amplifying survivor voices in the media can counteract myths and generate greater concern for this issue.
