Chelsie Holmes

Chelsie Holmes has been in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy for seven years, currently serving as the Confidential Services Program Manager with Advocates of Routt County. She began her career in metro Detroit and relocated to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in summer of 2020. Chelsie is bisexual and a survivor of intimate partner violence and sexual assault, inspiring her passion for improving access and quality of services for LGBTQIA+ survivors. During her time in Michigan, she worked to improve services for marginalized survivors through a combination of community-based organizing and advocacy from within the dual DV/SA agency where she worked, focusing her efforts specifically on queer folks, immigrants, and incarcerated people. Since relocating, Chelsie founded the only LGBTQIA+ organization in Routt County, Yampa Valley Pride, which planned an historic first large-scale public pride event in the area. She is involved in social justice work locally, through CCASA, and remains connected to activism in her home state.
